The Kicking for Grassroots CIC was set up in 2018 to tackle social issues and inspire young people to reach their potential. Our vision is to help create confident and skilled young people to build a brighter future.
In 2019 KFG was funded to deliver a brand-new programme KFG Changemakers a project working with RLWC 2021. A project group was set up in Doncaster working with sixth form students in secondary schools across Doncaster. The aim to give young people an opportunity to have a voice in the lead up to the major tournament being held across the UK in 2021.
The project is to help raise young people’s aspirations and bridge the gap between education and work by giving them access to real experiences in event management and project planning. Sixteen students took part in the project gaining first-hand experience of all early planning stages of a major sporting event.
KFG have just secured funding from the People’s Health Trust to deliver sessions in Middleton around isolation of middle-aged men.
